Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how windowiq.co (“WindowIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use WindowIQ mobile applications, desktop applications, websites, cloud services, and related features (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through WindowIQ. It does not govern third-party websites, applications, app stores, identity providers, payment providers, or other services that publish their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
Account and Identity Information
We may process your WindowIQ user identifier, verified account or contact email, display name, profile information you choose to provide, account status, sign-in timestamps, and authentication history.
Google and Apple Sign-In Information
If you sign in using Google, Apple, or another supported identity provider, we may receive the provider name, provider-specific user identifier (sub), name where provided, email where provided, email-verification status, and authentication information necessary to verify the sign-in.
We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
If you use Sign in with Apple and choose “Hide My Email,” Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email. We may store that relay address as part of your Apple authentication identity.
WindowIQ may separately ask you to verify an account or work email for cross-device access, account recovery, account linking, collaboration, or other account functions.
Project and Business Content
Depending on the features you use, we may process project names, measurements, drawings, 2D/3D design data, photographs you choose to upload, customer/contact/site information you choose to enter, quotations, pricing, notes, order information, generated documents, and files used for synchronization, backup, or sharing.
You are responsible for ensuring you have authority to provide personal information relating to customers, employees, contractors, or other individuals.
Device, App, and Technical Information
We may collect technical information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, including device type, operating-system version, app version, language and region, device or installation identifiers, IP address, connection information, crash logs, diagnostics, performance information, and security events.
The exact data collected depends on the platform, app version, enabled features, and third-party SDKs used in the Service.
Support and Communications
If you contact us, we may process your contact information, message content, screenshots, logs, attachments, project information you choose to provide, and records of support communications.
Purchases and Subscriptions
If WindowIQ offers paid services, we may receive transaction identifiers, purchased product or plan, subscription status, purchase date, renewal status, and country or region. Payments made through Apple App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store, or another provider are generally processed by that provider, and we do not receive your full payment-card number from those platform transactions.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to create and authenticate accounts; link supported sign-in methods; provide project creation, storage, synchronization, sharing, quotation, and order functions; maintain Guest Mode and eligible migration to an account; provide support; process subscriptions and entitlements; prevent fraud and unauthorized access; maintain and improve the Service; send important account, security, and service communications; and comply with law and enforce our Terms.
4. Legal Bases Where Applicable
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How We Share Information
We may share information as reasonably necessary with service providers that support hosting, cloud infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, customer support, diagnostics, analytics, security, payment processing, and application distribution.
Information may also be exchanged with Google, Apple, Microsoft, app stores, and payment providers where necessary to authenticate users, distribute applications, process transactions, or verify entitlements.
Where WindowIQ receives Google user data, its use and transfer comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We may disclose information where required by law, legal process, enforceable governmental request, fraud or abuse investigation, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the security of the Service.
If WindowIQ is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.
6. International Data Transfers
WindowIQ may provide services across multiple countries, so personal information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain required records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and comply with law.
When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information within a reasonable period except where retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten through normal backup cycles.
8. Account Deletion
If you have a WindowIQ account, you may request deletion using the account-deletion function available in the application or by contacting us by email as described below.
Deleting an account may permanently remove cloud projects, account settings, linked authentication methods, and other associated data, subject to legally required or permitted retention.
Deleting WindowIQ does not delete your Google Account, Apple Account, or other third-party account. Revoking Google or Apple authorization does not automatically delete your WindowIQ account.
Account deletion requests by email: support@windowiq.co (please use the subject “Account Deletion”).
9. Account Linking and Email Verification
WindowIQ may allow more than one authentication provider to be linked to the same account. Provider-specific identifiers are used to recognize previously linked authentication identities.
A verified WindowIQ account email may also be used to discover an existing account or help link authentication methods across platforms.
Where automatic matching is not reliable—for example, where Sign in with Apple provides a private relay email—we may require additional verification such as verification of an existing WindowIQ email, a one-time code or secure link, reauthentication through an already linked provider, or another account-ownership verification method.
We do not attempt to reverse or circumvent Apple’s Hide My Email feature.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, which may include encrypted network communications, secure authentication, access controls, logging, token validation, and protected credential storage.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where applicable, receive certain information in portable form, or complain to a privacy or data-protection authority.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
To exercise privacy rights, contact support@windowiq.co or use the privacy controls provided through WindowIQ.
12. Children’s Privacy
WindowIQ is designed primarily for business and professional users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age at which they may lawfully consent in their jurisdiction.
13. Cookies and Website Technologies
Our website may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for security, session management, preferences, analytics, or other website functions. Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential technologies, we will provide appropriate choices before using them.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
WindowIQ may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices, and you should review their privacy policies separately.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as WindowIQ develops or as legal, technical, or business requirements change. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice where required. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
